Makeup has never been a big thing for me.
Well, it was… when I wasn’t allowed to wear it.
I can remember in the 5th grade taking a blue crayon to my eyelid to get a little hue there.
Yes, it hurt.
But now that I’m allowed to wear makeup, I’m really not that into it.
I guess it’s alot like drinking. I was all into it until I hit 21 and then it just wasn’t as fun anymore.
I want to be girly, I really do. I want to be stylish. I’d love to be able to match make up colors and clothes and know what’s in style. But it takes effort. And frankly? My efforts are put forth elsewhere…
like blogging… and playing on myspace… and those kids!
Since I began blogging, I’ve been getting alot of fashion advice fromw and then she started Chic Critique, and I’ve been following. I’ve been picking up little hints here and there and remarkably, I’m a little more stylish today than I was a year ago.
Last week my BFF mailed me some makeup that she got. It’s mineral stuff of some sort so that it’s better for you? I guess, that’s what she told me.
But it arrived today. With brushes.
And no instructions.
There are multiple eye shadow and blush colors. And foundation. And a veil?
I called her to let her know that it arrived. I left a message.
I don’t know what to do with it.
I don’t know what color goes with what and I’m not sure what brushes are for what. I invested in a kabuki brush as she instructed, however Kabuki is a restaurant here in town.. it’s all I know.
so I went to experiment.
I’m not sure it’s supposed to look like this…
I’ll know for sure when Barnum and Bailey call…
Until next time…

Hahahaha! Too funny! Is it Bare Minerals? I have that one, and had no idea what to do with it either, till I watched the instructional DVD. (I got the starter kit though). Anyway, it REALLY helped. Maybe go to the make-up’s website and they’ll have a video there?
LOVE your tag line! I think we share a common sense of humor.

Im in the same boat with you about all things fashion and makeup. I do however use the bare minerals and love it. All i can tell you is, you tip some of it into the lid of the container..it doesn’t take much. Then take your brush and swirl it around in the lid. Once you get it swirled good on the brush, you tap the excess back into the lid. Then apply to your face in like a stroking motion. Don’t ask me about color..hehe. You can also dampen your eye applicator brush just a tiny bit and make a kind of paste on the colored ones for like eyeshadow.
Thats about the expertese I have on that.

LOL. Well, just start trying it out and see how it goes. True confessions, I don’t really know much about applying makeup. I watch What Not To Wear with vivid interest when Carmindy does the makeup segment!!
