Last night Matthew and I watched We Are Marshall (because Samara couldn’t be bothered with it) and then afterwards, because it was late, we all piled into my bed to watch Alvin and Chipmunks.
Never mind that all of saw this movie in the theater.
I fell asleep before it was over, as did the kids, so this morning when I woke up, my queen size bed was a little cramped and I was in the middle of the kids.
And it was cold because we’re retarded. It was so hot in the house yesterday because it was so nice outside, that we had all the windows opened and the fans going. That would’ve been fine had the temperature not dropped 20 degrees from yesterday to today and the comforter was at the bottom of the bed.
I looked at the clock… 8am. I kept telling myself that I couldn’t get up; that it was too early.
But I was cold, the kids had knees and elbows jabbed in my side and I heard the dog barking from outside.
Great! No one left the dog in last night.
Now, I knew that I had to get up.
Trying to get out of my bed without waking the children was going to prove to be difficult. I carefully pulled one leg from out beneath the sheet and then the other.
No movement from the zombies… GREAT!
But then I had to figure out how to get out of the bed. Being in the middle I was either going to have to climb over one of them or go down through the middle the end.
I opted for the latter but I decided to stand up and walk to the end of the bed. So that’s what I did.
I just forgot one little detail.
Know what it’s like to get your head stuck in a ceiling fan?
I do.
Until next time…
