I’m new on Wordpress (2 months) and not just a little frustrated with it at times. I’d love some hand-holding to get some VICTORY over Wordpress.

And read here if you want to know exactly the nightmare I’ve had with my blog in the past week. Big ‘ol Mother Breach. As in my Mother found out about my anonymous blog.

Had to up and relocate. Quickly. Lost a lot of great materials and readers.

DANG.

Oh, sweet goodness. Are you serious!?! I have entered, I dunno, a hundred or more giveaways this week, and this is THE ONE I’m now positively DYING to win.

I have a free Wordpress.com blog… and ya know, I’m just totally conflicted about it. I used to blog at Blogger, and while I loved a few things (customizable enough that I had a decent design going, ads were allowed), I hated other things - the visual editor was a crutch for me, and I felt like a “real” blogger should move beyond Blogger. So I switched to wp.com — I love the platform. Hands down. LOVE it. But I hate that I can only choose between a few dozen themes (I know there are more than that, but I’m a stickler about at LEAST having my own header, you know?) and I can’t edit a bit of the CSS (not that I know HOW, but it irks me that I’m not even allowed to try it!) and I HATE, hate, hate that I can do ads. I mean, I’d like to self-host, etc - but I need a little bloggy income to make that happen. Can’t get bloggy income if I can’t have ads, which brings me back to where I started. I’m in a wordpress.com catch-22! And YOU can save me!!!! Please, oh please, pick me from the depths of free-blogging-despair!!

OhMyGoodness! I would SO LOVE to win this giveaway!!!!!!!!!
I’m new to blogging but have fast become addicted. My kids talked me into starting one so I can keep them informed about what is going with us when we move to Argentina in a few months. And it’s a way to keep in touch with my friends too!
I’m frustrated with what I can’t do with my blog now (or at least haven’t figured out how to do yet). I feel like I’m stuck in a little box and I’m definitely an outside-the-box kinda gal I don’t like that my posts are confined to a narrow band in the middle of the page. What’s with all that wasted space on the left? I don’t want to make my page look too busy but at the same time I’d like to jazz it up some.

I would say that I don’t like that blogger won’t let me schedule posts in advance, but that appears to be changing. I don’t like how the comments are set up in blogger, though.

i don’t hate blogger, but that’s just because it’s the only thing i know. i am jealous about wordpress people being able to write posts ahead of time and have them self-post. although i’ve heard that blogger is beta-ing that.

I don’t hate anything about my platform because Wordpress is still pretty great. But, I’d like my own domain name and site so that, as you said before, it’s mine to control. I’ve been blogging about one year and had decided that if I kept up with it for that long, I’d look at transferring to my own domain. This giveaway perfectly coincides that. I’d also like to be able to do more CSS editing than is permitted within Wordpress. Thanks.

I’ve been wanting to do this for ages. I only started with Blogspot because everyone I knew had Blogspot, I wasn’t aware of other platforms. It quickly became obvious that Blogspot was very limited.

My SIL is a webmaster, and she purchased the domain name for me and said she’d help me set it up. This was last November. Then she got promoted, and doesn’t have time to take it any further. So I’ve been stuck, unable to do anything.

I am always drooling over everyone’s plug-ins and the seemingly limitless things they can do with their blogs, and the increased traffic that comes with having your own URL. I want!

how generous are you? wow…i currently use blogger and so want “more” options, etc…i absolutely love to blog and it has opened up a whole new world for me…i love fiddling around with it, creating stuff…but blogger has lots of limitations…i’m 44 and for the first time in my life not working (also a newlywed and grandma!) so i’d like my blog to be like my new life…no limitations! thank you for this incredible opportunity!

Wow! This would be awesome! I’m new to blogging (only been online for about 2 weeks) and, like another poster, wasn’t sure I was going to be into it enough to pay for a site but so far I love it! I wish Blogger was more colorful and fun and customizeable. I guess I just want MORE. It’s like having Rodeo Drive tastes on a Target budget. Thanks for the opportunity!

Why would I love my own domain with a WP blog? Let me count the ways! I am frustrated with Blogger because I can’t collect email addresses and would love to be able to respond directly to comments instead of hoping people check back.
I have really been enjoying learning to customize my template with different code but would like to have more freedom. I would also like to have pages more like a regular website. And so on and so on. Thanks for a chance at such a wonderful prize!

it seems more limited
doesn’t have cool plugins

Oh I desperately need this! I just bought my domain name but my blog is brand new (only 1 month) and I have been trying to figure out the best way to go about it. I didn’t know better, so I signed up for blogger, and now I’m hearing that WP is much better. I could really really use the help! I hate that in blogger, even if I write a blog tonight that I want to post tomorrow, it shows up tonight anyway, just dated tomorrow. And I hate that I can’t move my pictures to where I want in the post. And I hate the limited fonts. And I hate that I can’t design my layout — that I just have to live with the layout that they give me, and I am wasting all kids of space that I would like to use. Oh oh oh how I need this!
