I love giving home made gifts…which one of the kids would you like?
May 12th, 2008
The science fair projects are done and I’ll have more on that later.
I’ll also have the remaining answers to your questions (and really, I’m putting it off because I have to talk about balance and this weekend PROVES that I suck at it…) but I promise… soon. Like today sometime.
But amidst the running to and fro this weekend to find out what time it was using a clock and learning how to make a good egg float (because bad eggs float) I happened across something that made me stop and think.
And while I was drafting up this post in my head, I decided that this would be a great video post for you!
So take a peek, it’s not long, just about 5 minutes…
Now, I want to know what you think…
NOT of the video, of the content contained within!
We live in such a “I want it now” society that it really doesn’t surprise me that there is “financing available” for a pet. However, I would Not finance a pet. I agree with you, if you can’t afford to buy the pet in the first place, how are you going to be able to pay for the vet bills, or the food?
We had adopted a German Shepherd/Mix from the SPCA, however, she got hit by a car a few years back. When we went to the SPCA, there were so many dogs available (cats too)…all of them were just so cute, I wanted to take them all home! We ended up picking up a malnourished dog to take care of…we suspected it was an abused dog, but the SPCA said they had just found her and didn’t have any information on where she came from. She was such a good dog.
After she died, we decided that we really liked the German Shepherd in her that when the time came, we would purchase an AKC registered German Shepherd puppy…we did that just a couple weeks ago.
On a totally different subject, I don’t like the way there’s no ‘ after the comment author’s name in your CommentLuv Plugin, so I’m trying to fix that — just in case your blog disappears, you’ll know why
Lisa B @ simply Hiss last blog post..Happy Mother’s Day!
My favorite part is that it acts like a huge blog directory- a listing of hundreds of blogs I have yet to discover all in one place. Of course, it’s always fun to enter all of the giveawys too.
For some reason I am not able to post on your actual blog party post…
I think financing a dog is STUPID!!! I can’t believe that a pet store would even do this….I qgree with you, how are they going to handle the vet bills, food, etc if they can’t affor to “buy the dog” with cash money!
Love the video!!!!
You’re too funny! Yes, financing a dog goes beyond stupid. That said, I am one of those people who applied for a credit card with a low limit, specifically to indulge my impulse buying and expensive tastes. But a pet and designer jeans aren’t the same thing. Right?
I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s ridiculous to finance a dog and dare I say re-tar-did.
My SIL financed her dog. I can’t remember what the breed is called. It looks like a rat on steroids to me. But it has papers and she gets to tell people it’s an $800 dog.
