We Have Arrived

First off, yes.  I’m on of those people who tell you I’m not at home.

To those of you who wish to rob my house, go ahead.  I have all the electronics that are worth anything with me here.  At the beach.

That and two women are house sitting for us.  They may or may not teach people how to shoot weapons.

So, yeah.  I’m telling you I’m not at home.

Anywho.

We’re here.

Thing 4 and I left at o’dark thirty (6am) and headed toward NC State where Thing 1.5 and Thing 2 were attending cheer camp.  Thing 1.5 is Thing 2′s best bud.

So we named her Thing 1.5 because age wise, she falls in between 1 and 2.  Duh.

I was pretty proud of both of them.

I would post pictures, but I have a very limited cell signal that will not upload pictures from my phone and truth be told?  I’m just too darn lazy to get up and get the cord that will transfer them.

I’m on vacation!

But on the way to cheer camp, I listened to two artists the entire way here.  NKOTB (new and old hits!) and Kenny Chesney.  Period.  Nothing else was allowed.  It was the best music for a vacation and a long drive.  It worked well until Thing 4 asked me to turn it down… apparently it was interfering with her Jesus music on the iPod.

Convicted much?

Slightly.  We went back to listening to Kenny and Donnie and the gang.

Then?  I loaded the older girls in the car and we made our way to the beach.

You would’ve thought a car load of fools had rolled in here when we saw the ocean for the first time.  It’s not like we’ve never seen it before.  But it was nearly 12 hours since I had left the house and I was so ready to be somewhere.

Since the boys weren’t due to arrive for another hour, and since the hubs packed all the food and sheets in the van (that he’s driving) we had nothing to do.

What do you do when you have nothing to do?

Why, you walk to the beach!

Again, I would have pictures but … well, I’ve already explained that.  Heh.

The boys got here and we unloaded, I made dinner, his sister and her family got here and then we all headed to the beach…

I, of course, took my camera.  The real one.  Not the phone one.

There’s cable.  We don’t have that.  This truly is a vacation for our brood.

And I will cherish every single night of this…..

Until next time…
