Y’all – it’s October.
(And oh. my. goodness. I just typed out y’all. It’s probably because I just left Mary Snyder’s blog and listened to her talk about banana clips and false eyelashes. She says y’all alot.)
Or maybe it’s because I’ve just lived in the south longer than I’ve lived in the north?
Or because I have a husband who’s an Appalachian american?
Regardless, I said it.
It’s October.
This week, like last week, I found myself dictating a meal plan and grocery list in the car. Thing 2 has the potential to be a great secretary — if only her spelling would improve. Seriously child. Texting is NOT helping you.
Fortunately, I can read Thing2ese. It’s a gift.
So without further adieu (speaking of spelling, I almost wrote ado and thought that was right. Karma.) here is this week’s menu plan.
Monday: Ham and potatoes - Crazy day – as Mondays typically are – but let’s throw a Cheerleading Booster Club meeting in there for me. It was funny… as I was dictating, I told her it had to be a crockpot meal because I’d get home from work and not have time and then stopped, gasped, and exclaimed, “Oh wait! I start my new job tomorrow. I will be home to cook.” So we decided on ham and potatoes. And now that I’m typing this, I wish we would’ve picked a crockpot meal. It’s cold and rainy and I’m so not going to feel like cooking this afternoon. :)
Tuesday: Homemade Mac & Cheese. Because if Thing 2 has anything to do with meal planning, Mac & Cheese will happen on Tuesday. It always does. And this week, I actually bought the cheese… because last week? There was no cheese.
Wednesday: OMG Chicken — I will most definitely get a recipe up for this one. It was called “Melt in Your Mouth Chicken” but when my kids took one bite, OMG was what came out. (Well, all of the children except Thing 2. If it’s not Mac & Cheese on Tuesday, she won’t eat it.)
Thursday – Fend for your self!
Friday: No one is home! I’m at eWomen with my friends, the kids are all with their parents and there will be some sort of leftovers for the hubs
Saturday: No one is home! I’m at eWomen with my friends, the kids are with the other parents and the hubs will be rocking the security circuit at Battle at Byrd (a HUGE cheer competition our high school puts on to raise money for the competition cheer squad and cancer.)
Sunday: Lasagna — my mom’s recipe. The only one I really like. So simple!
I’ll work on getting that one up too.
So there you have it — what we’re having this week!
How about you? What are you having this week? Comment or leave your link below!
Until next time…

I think, since we have one meat- atarian in our house and you have one vegetarian in your house, we should swap dinner guests on Tuesdays sometimes
