New Addition to the Household

Thursday, I met my Grand Egg for the very first time.

His name is Jeffery.

Isn’t he cute?

That’s Jeffery in his little bed in the fridge.  That’s where he sleeps.

I have to admit that this is probably one of my favorite projects that Thing 2 has ever had to do.  In addition to carrying Jeffrey for a week (and getting a baby sitter if she’s not able to watch him) she has to do research on how much it costs to raise a baby and interview me about the story of her birth.

Which… if I’m helping her, I might as well write it and put it here… right?

Sure.

The hubs and I have contemplated waking her up every two hours in the middle of the night… you know… to simulate really having a baby…

But let’s be real.

That would require us to get up all throughout the night and this mama?

Loves her sleep.

As does her hubs!

And poor Thing 2… she’s struggling already.

She walked to her friend’s house today and when I went to get a glass of milk this morning, I saw Jeffrey sitting there in his little box…

I promptly called her and told her she needed to come back and get him.

And then told her where to find the mother of the year awards.

Yes.

This is going to be a fun week.

Especially since I found out Friday that Thing 1 is expecting and will bringing home his bundle of joy on Monday!

Until next time…

  1. I think every teenager should have to do this project! And I think every parent should get to enjoy it as much as you are!! It’s gonna be a great adventure for y’all! Can’t wait to follow along with the adventures of the “grand-eggs”!

    • Seriously! I LOVE this project! I wish it was longer than just a week. I will admit, I’m more excited to watch the eldest boy complete the project than thing 2!

  2. I didn’t know schools still did egg babies! I had twins in 11th grade. They were girls, Kia and Lia. Great memories. Oh, and by the way, congrats Gmaw!!

  3. Gosh! She sure grew up FAST! Why it seems like yesterday when she was born! Now you are a Grandma? Enjoy the fun!
