The holidays are over and we can get back to a schedule around here.
Pa-raise Jesus!
Which means I can get back to planning our meals and stop going to the grocery store eleventy-bajillion times a week for assorted junk that we really don’t need.
With the holidays behind us it also means that my birthday is upon us. And that means I’m going to be more conscious about what we are eating.
AFTER my birthday.
Because birthdays involve cake.
And I plan on eating a lot of cake.
And ice cream.
And other assorted junk food.
I also plan on celebrating through this weekend.
If I’m honest with myself, I should probably plan on celebrating through NEXT weekend as well because Thing 1?
Totally turns 16.
I am dead serious.
That should involve something of the junky nature, right?
Or perhaps lots of alcohol to drown my sorrow that my baby is growing up?
Except I’m such a light weight because I just don’t drink much anymore.
I digress.
Menu plan.
Here it is….
Monday: Ribs in the crockpot and mashed taters. (They smell so good! So easy… Country style bone in pork spare ribs and a bottle or so of barbecue sauce. Cook ‘em til they fall off the bone.) Yum!
Tuesday: It’s still Mac and Cheese
Wednesday: Cheeseburger Chowder (I’d really love to have something other than this on my birthday, but it’s a church night and I need something easy.
Thursday: Fend for yourself. (On the whole, I’m taking Thursdays off since there are no kids around these parts on Thursdays!)
Friday/Saturday: Eating out as we’re heading to Milton, PA to chaperone a Bible Quiz trip.
Sunday: Pot roast and potatoes. (Am I the only one who finds it odd that my family requests this regularly?)
That’s what we’re having this week (in addition to the cake!) … what are you having?
Until next time…

Hi! I came over from the Blog Hop, and I had to leave a comment after I read your byline at the top…..thankfully I wasn’t swallowing any coffee or anything or it would have been all over! Love it!!!
I desperately want to be organized enough to have a menu planned out for the week, but I just can’t seem to get myself there! I have a dry erase menu board up on the wall though, so I guess it’s a start right? I just don’t use it….your Cheeseburger Chowder looks good. I might just have to try it – I am finding it hard to come up with new ideas of what to try.
Will follow you on Facebook:-)

Marie!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I just popped over to your blog and promptly made myself a spammer by accident! I loved your goals for 2013 and I’ll certainly be back!
Can’t wait to get to know you better! (And keep at it with the meal planning…. putting it on here is what helps me!)
We are only about 45 minutes away from Milton…
You really let me need to know these things.
