It probably comes as no surprise that I adore my pick this week. Not that I don’t adore all my picks. If I didn’t adore them, I probably wouldn’t feature them.
But this one, I actually got to MEET.
And she was exactly like I thought she would be. Crazy.
But that’s okay because I’m crazy too.
She makes me laugh, but at the same time, she’s quick to bring me back down to earth and remind me where I should be focusing when I get out of whack. But I think that she might be a little miffed at me since I brought Pepsi into her town.
Does ANYONE in Atlanta drink Pepsi? At all?
And, when she guest posted for me, she added a category to my sidebar that says “Soliloquy Rocks”. It took me awhile to notice it and I said something to her and she said, “Delete it”
But I won’t… because it still cracks me up everytime I’m scrolling through and trying to determine how I should file my posts.
So this week… She Just Had To Say It is my pick for the week. Go visit her. She’s real. She’s funny. She’s cool.
And she might have forgotten to turn the baby monitor off recently and in turn found herself humiliated a short while later… I’m STILL laughing about that one! Go read it…
Go visit…
Until next time…

Totally Shameless…
TOTALLY…
But I mentioned that I was working on some pretty exciting stuff and as as result, I have a new blog.
There’s more to all that’s going on. And I can’t wait to share it all with you. Don’t you hate when people do that to you? Yeah, me too.
So… there you go.

I have so much to share with you today, that I have two choices… combine them all into one post or have five different posts. I’ve opted for one post. It’s easier and then I don’t blow up your feed reader. You can thank me later.
There’s a Contest Going On…
Since I’ve celebrated my 600th post (and can you believe I’m nearing my 6,000th comment?) I’ve got just a little giveaway going on here… unfortunately, you’ll have to make it through the pictures of my applying my makeup… it’s worth it though. So go and enter… :D The contest is open until Thursday…
Blog Pick of the Week…
Yeah, yeah, I didn’t do a blog pick of the week last week. Shame on me. I was preoccupied with other things…
However, this week… I want you to visit last week’s pick’s mother… did you get all that? Last week was Heidi over at Frantically Simple and this week it’s her mother. Hop over to see Charlene at Grandma’s Zoo and then be jealous that Heidi’s mom is funnier than your mom. :D (Although, I’m not quite sure she’s funnier than my mom, because my mom is pretty funny.
)
Leave her a comment… she’s a new blogger too and I know that she’ll enjoy them. And laugh. But you won’t have to force yourself to do that because, well, it will just happen.
Straight From the Heart…
I’m kidless this afternoon and I’ve been taking care of some things, reading a few blogs, etc and I came across something at Lisa B.’s simply His blogger… it’s called Straight From the Heart. I’m ashamed that I’ve not told you about this yet… because Lisa B., as you know, is a very important part of my life and somehow I have missed her feed on this blog and I’ve missed out on some AWESOME interviews, including one with Shannon @ Rocks in My Dryer. So sorry, Lisa… but you could’ve mentioned it…
Go.. read… now. Thank you.
Revolutionary Open House…
And one of the reasons that I’ve been so busy is that I’ve been preparing for the first ever open house for the Virtual Assistant Revolution. It’s a site for Virtual Assistants, by Virtual Assistants who want to take their VA businesses to new heights. If you’re a VA or know a VA or just want to come see what it’s all about, we invite you to RSVP here… because there will be prizes… oh yes there will! (Of course, if you’re not a business owner, you might not care for any of the prizes….)
Trip Down South…
The kids and I are going to be trekking from here to Jackson, Mississippi June 27th-July 10th and if you’re on our route, we’d love to meet you… can I tell you that this was my son’s idea to post about it? We’ll be going from here to Atlanta and then from Atlanta to Jackson… and from Jackson to Memphis to Knoxville to home on the way back… if we can make it work, let’s do it… :D More details to follow, but we’re in the planning stages now… so let’s make something work.
Where He Met Me Winner…
And then there’s the last outstanding issue of who gets the prize in the Where He Met Me Carnival that I had last week. I need you to know that I was blown away by the testimonies that were shared. They were encouraging, inspiring, and uplifting and I know that many have been blessed this week by them. I thank you all for participating… :D I decided to pick two from the list, using Random.org and so, please say congrats to Alana and Cathy. And go read their stories… please…
That’s all I got.
I become a Middle School Mom tomorrow. Pray for me… and I’ll have more on that. And… I’ve taken some time off to get this house in order BEFORE the children mess it up.
Have a blessed week!
Until next time…

I don’t even know where to begin when telling you about my pick this week….
Let’s just say she’s FREAKING hysterical.
I met Heidi because she wanted a pretty wordpress blog. She wanted to get off the wordpress.com blog that she had and have her OWN place. So I helped her to get her big girl panties. Jo-Lynne made it pretty. I just did the technical stuff.
I actually got to talk to her on the phone. I was afraid that I would mess up her email. So I called her and said, “There’s a chance that I might break your email, but if I do, I’ll fix it.” Because I’m honest like that.
Lisa B. had to help me with something because I had all the pieces, I just did one of them in the wrong order. But not the email part. I did that all by myself. And I didn’t break it.
Which means she still likes me. Hopefully.
So, because I helped make her blog pretty, I added her to my feed reader. (I also had to see if I made that work right, too, because I’m good like that) and so I’ve been reading.
She’s made me laugh EVERY.SINGLE. TIME. but this post sealed the deal.
She became my blog pick of the week and the latest blogger that I would like to stalk.
So, please take a minute to go and see Heidi. Tell her I sent you and tell her how AWESOME her blog looks!
Until next time…

You know what I forgot to do last week? I forgot a blog pick of the week. Well, I didn’t exactly forget, but when I remembered, there was that whole bloggy break thing going on and it was later in the week and well… it just didn’t happen.
And my blog roll page is broken. And now I have to fix it. And I don’t want to. Because I don’t have time.
But that has NOTHING to do with my pick this week.
This week it’s all about Sister Honey Bunch and Sister Sassy at Sisters of a Different Order. I have to admit that when I first happened across their blog I was weirded out… NUNS? Because I didn’t really dive deep. I just saw the picture. And I read a little bit and couldn’t figure out how nuns were allowed to do this stuff and get away with it AND post it on the internet.
But then, I came back to their blog some other way and dove in. And now I keep going back. Because they are funny… and I can sing songs about Sister Honey Bunch and she keeps coming back here to comment.
It’s all about reciprocation, ya know?
So head on over to see the Sisters… laugh, leave a comment… and if you pester them enough, they might just reveal which of them was in the pokey. But don’t hold your breath on that one….
*********
The winner in the MommyFest giveaway from last week was Nicole! Nicole, you’ll have an email from me regarding your prize. Stay tuned, because I’ve got more giveaways coming up. Just not today… today I have to work and not play on the internet. Which sucks. Because I really just want to play on the internet.
Until next time…

If there is one blogger in the blogosphere who had been with me through thick and thin and ALWAYS comments giving me kudos, words of wisdom, or just an “i hear ya sista” it would be Mel from Melz World. And if I were to put a little widget in my sidebar that listed the top commenter, she would be at the top.
She just would.
Because she such a blessing like that.
A “mild mannered reporter by day” in a small town in Mississippi, Mel takes me through her life, one day at a time. With issues that we can all relate to in attempting to lose weight, a child who isn’t always the reflection of well behaved, to what happens when your church home isn’t there anymore, Mel explains it all, honestly through her blog and is one of the most authentic bloggers I know.
She’s just real.
And I?
Like real. It resonates with me.
And I know that you’ll find her blog just as much of a blessing as I do.
So head on over there and say hi to Mel… tell her how wonderful she is. Tell her how awesome it is that AM was the Warrior of the Week and how fantabulous she’s doing with her weight loss. Because she deserves it!
Until next time…

In going through my blog roll and looking at who I wanted to talk about this week, it was obvious… and only because I can’t believe that I’ve never blogged about this before.
Shane Shares is a blog I stumbled upon during the Ultimate Blog Party two years ago. I continued to read about her family and her life, as well as her ADHD blog while they were living in South Carolina…
And then, one day, I read that they are looking to move… closer to family in West Virginia.
And then… her hubby got a job in Roanoke… right here by me…
and then? We started emailing and guess what?
Our kids go to the same school. She moved just a mile away from me.
And then I became her stalker when her kids enrolled in Upward. Her boys played at my church and I saw her walk in, I knew it was her and I went up and introduced myself.
And she’s so nice and very knowledgeable when it comes to ADHD and Learning Disabilities.
So therefor, Shane from Shane Shares is my blog pick of the week.
Stop by and say hi!
Until next time…

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not the most girly in the world. Up until a few weeks ago, I was still wearing my make up (and by make up, I mean brown eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss) the same way I was when I was 18.
Beauty stuff intimidates me.
There I said it.
Fashion does too, but that’s a post for another time.
And I once had a boyfriend beg me to be a little more girly… bought me all kinds of smelly stuff and would suggest things, but I just didn’t “get it”.
I’ve had friends drag me to Sephora (when I lived near one) and try on all kinds of goop for my face… and I just felt so weird.
Over time, I’ve hated feeling like a “mom”. There’s nothing wrong with being a mom, but let’s face it… I’m not getting any younger and just because I am a mom doesn’t mean I have to be all frumpy, right?
Someone did say right, right?
Besides, I’m on the market. I’m not going to catch the eye of some unsuspecting rich young gentleman looking if I don’t put a little effort into myself. (Which totally sucks, but whatever…)
So, when my blogging buddy Jo-Lynne told me about her idea for her new site which basically would bring fashion and beauty tips for moms around the blogosphere, I thought to myself, “that’s nice… for someone else.”
I wasn’t even going to subscribe to her feed, but she’s my blogging buddy and all, and I wanted to be supportive.
I’m hooked.
I’ve bought SEVERAL items that were recommended. I’m dying to review something of my own, but that would require me to actually know something to purchase on my own that no one else has recommended yet. I’m still working on it.
So, head over to Chic Critique and pick up some great advice on what to try and what to steer clear of and by all means, give that woman a reason to go to Sephora.
Until next time…

Let’s see how long I can keep up with this…it seemed like a great idea at the time.
If you’ll notice, right over there on the side bar, I’ve got a little link to a blog and the my blog pick of the week. The reason I decided to do this was because there are so many great blogs out there that no one knows about… and I want to tell people about them.
We all know about Chilihead and Rocks in My Dryer… Big Mama and Boo Mama… but what about those that don’t have that huge following?
So I’m going to work on this… :D Eventually, I’ll make it through the list of people that I follow. Although, it will take me some time… :D Maybe I’ll get creative and make a little button… as if that’s what you all are waiting for.. a button from me that says “heather likes me…” lol.. we’ll see!
This week, I picked my good buddy Lisa B. at simply His. Lisa was instrumental in introducing me to Christ and proof that God works on the internet. We met online a few years ago when we were both Virtual Assistants. Funny, now neither one of are. Little did I know the impact that she would have on my life.
Lisa is a wealth of information when it comes to anything technical. If you see something broken on my blog and then one day it’s fixed, its because I’ve IM’d her frantically telling her that I’ve broken my blog (again) and how do I fix it.
And you know what she does? Fixes it and then tells me what she did so that I know the next time. The only problem is, I never remember and then she has to tell me again.
Lisa’s blog is a hodgepodge of posts regarding life, her genius better half, Duck (who is a Saint!) and her daughter, Doodle. Doodle and Sam are the same age, so Lisa and I can relate.
Lisa’s recently started riding a bike, and by bike, I mean motorcycle. I’m so jealous. I would love to learn, but I don’t have a death wish and I know what I’m like on four wheels… two would be disasterous!
Lisa is authentic with her blog posts…she’ll tell you when she’s screwed up and when she’s done well. She’ll tell you her strengths and she’ll tell you her weaknesses… but she’ll always remind you that she’s simply His.
Please stop by and say hello…
Until next time…
