- American Idol started tonight…
Well at least for me anyway…
Since I gave up TV for Lent, I stopped watching Idol right after the auditions. I kept up with what was going on, religiously, through Jo-Lynn's blog. Truthfully, I didn't watch any of the performances on TV. Ok, let me confess. Last week I heard so much about two performances, that I looked them up on YouTube. But other than that, really, I've not watched. (…)

Six 5th graders from each Elementary school were picked and they worked hard to perform Tuesday night…

- What I learned at my women's retreat…
I learned quite a few things after spending three days with my church ladies…they were vital, so I thought I would pass them along…
I've learned that a frosted mug filled with Apple Cider kinda resembles a frosted mug filled with beer and is a great picture to show your pastor…
I've learned that I look pretty good with a dragon hat on, yet I scare members of my youth group…
I've learned that dreads are not flattering on me and that other members of my youth group make great pirates…
I've learned that to really KNOW what a scent smells like with candle tarts you must stuff your face down in them and breathe in…
I've learned that a coffee table in a hotel room makes a great dining room table for the late night runs to Mickey D's. (…)

- Tuesday Toot…
It's not hard to think of what I want to toot about today…
Sunday was my first youth group where I led the group myself. I had Sunday School and Sunday evening and I was nervous. I came up with the lessons myself, and found a great set of lessons called Googling God which talks about the technology in teens' lives today. Sunday morning we talked about music and Sunday evening we talked about TV and movies… we'll cover MySpace, Texting, Video games, and parents by the time we finish the series. (…)

I'm home. I got an earlier flight home on Saturday, putting me here at 4pm instead of 11pm. And the kids got to come pick me up at the airport… that's the first time in 2.5 years that it's happened. (…)

Last week I was at Lifeway looking for a book when I happened across "If I'm Waiting on God, then What Am I Doing in a Christian Chatroom?" and after taking one look at the cover and reading the back, I knew this would be a good book… even if I learned nothing about Christian dating, it would be entertaining.
