  • He loves me just the way I am…

    That son of mine… I'm telling ya…
He's going to make a good husband one day… with the exception of the whole toilet seat thing, but I can work on that. (…)

  • Signs of growing up…

Most mother's mark the milestones of their children growing up with signs such as first smile, first word, first steps… and don't get me wrong, I've recorded each of these as well… (don't ask me to locate the document though… I can't seem to do that…)
There are other signs of growing up… like the first time they are invited to a playdate, or the first time they attend a party where you drop them off and come pick them up later… those are signs of independance…
And we've had our fair share of those milestones as well…
Matthew is growing up right before my very eyes.  I'm still having trouble fathoming the fact that he's 11.  It's hard for me.  I still don't feel old enough to have an 11 year-old.  I don't feel old enough to be registering my child for middle school. (…)

  • Next year, I'm just going to bribe him…

The party went off without a hitch…
Seriously… I wish that I had some funny story for you about how I forgot something or screwed something up but I don't… the only thing remotely funny is that while running around Saturday to get the last of the items I ran into six people I knew.. (…)

  • More ice, less school….

    Poor Matthew…
The child spent the day outside… like more time in the cold than if it were 80 and sunny… he just loves to play in the snow. (…)

  • Conversations in the Potty…

It's been awhile since we've had any interesting conversations upon the throne…
I was having a particularly rough time with Samara last night and her spelling homework and decided to walk away for a little bit…
One reason was because she was doing her homework like this…

I headed to the bathroom and as I walked in the bathroom and sat down I sighed and said, "Why does she have to be so difficult?"
All of a sudden I hear Matthew reply…
    "You gave her life."
    Yes. (…)

  • I wasn't prepared for this…

There's an M theme going on in my life today…
Today I spent the day obsessed with Moses, Malachi, and Medium… tonight?
    Middle School.
    Oy…. where do I start? (…)

  • 698 people…

…dedicated their lives to Christ tonight at Winter Jam.
    Among them?
    My son. (…)

  • Nothin' But Net…

For the next 7 weeks I have to be up at the butt crack of dawn… even on the weekends that the kids are with their dad… simply because I don't miss games for my children, regardless of which house they are sleeping at…
and because I'm loved so very much, one of them has a game at 9am every single week… except one week… the first one is at 11… but pictures are at 9:30…
Now this morning, I contemplated missing Sam's game. (…)

  • He sees the inside…

My children are two completely different animals… night and day.
I have an 8 year old that is very demanding and bossy. (…)

  • So… Halloween was… yeah…

Let me start by saying, I don't like Halloween. I never have really. I don't like to carve pumpkins. I don't like making costumes. I don't like dressing up. (…)

  • It ended today….

…at least our hopes and dreams of making it to the Super Bowl did…
they were a good team… and we played (and cheered) our little hearts out…
but in the end, the Falcons beat us… 18-6. (…)

  • What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

For the thousandth time, I looked at my oldest child, now almost 11, and asked him this question: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
It’s a question I ask both of my children on a regular basis. (…)

  • Today is a new day…

This morning I did not want to get up and face the day. I just didn't.
I was being rather childish about it, too. (…)
