Yesterday both of my children walked in the door bawling…
and I'm not exaggerating here… bawling…
I rushed immediately to my oldest… I've been careful with him this year as 5th grade is already taking it's toll…
I got his normal "I don't want to talk about it…" in between huge sobs…
I go to the younger one and hear what's wrong… in between her obviously fake tears she tells me that she's upset because Matt's upset. (…)

- Just a few loose ends…
I don't have anything really to make a whole blog post about, so we'll cover a few different things that I need to get out there…
…in response to those that commented on the kids' luggage on the first day of school… yeah, tell me about it… but the one thing is Matthew's binder… it's called a Case-It… and to be honest, I'm too lazy to look it up at the Staple website… first off, it was pricey… (and this was purchased AFTER my calculations…) but my mother told Matthew to get whatever binder he wanted and gave him $10… then she was worried that $10 wouldn't be enough so she called me to make sure that I allowed Matthew to purchase ANY binder he wanted and she would send me the left overs…
she's the best Nana… so I didn't stop him from getting what he wanted… and this was a big deal since this is the first year that he's needed a binder… he was excited… the binder was $21.99 but it has a little file section, the binder, it all zippers up and it has a carry strap and a carry handle…. I shipped them off to school… i had my coffee, did my devotions and then showered and headed to the bank, alone… it was glorious…
Around 9, I see the school's number on the caller ID… my initial thought was.. (…) - And there they go….
Ah yes… the first day of school…
The one day where the children are excited to rise at 6:30am… I cherished it because I know sometime this week I'll start yelling to get out of bed and get around before the bus leaves them in the dust…

- Because I'm a cool mom…
When we learned that Canton was the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, I told Matthew that I would take him…
just him… not his sister…
he was thrilled… and so was I because I was the cool mom…
What I didn't know at the time was that this was the Hall of Fame weekend…
and if you're not familiar with that, they induct the new people in and have a big game and oh… half the world attends…
the campground was full, and I just KNEW that the Hall of Fame was going to be a nightmare…
but I promised…
(note: I did give him the option of staying and playing or going and he picked going…. (…)
